If you are a member, you can use the library’s wifi for free by showing your e+ card or membership card in order to obtain the password. Go to our library computers page for full information and to book a computer. Free high-speed wifi is available at all our libraries, so you can access the internet on your own mobile device. You’ll need your library card and PIN to sign into a computer. You’ll have 10 minutes from the start of your session to do this.
- If you do not do this, current sessions may be extended by the people who are already using the computers and you will have to wait longer for a computer to become available.
- Screen magnification and screen reading software are available on all computers.
- Children and young people aged 8 to 15 years must be library members and have parental permission to use the library computers.
- There are computers in all our libraries for public use.
Most libraries have a regular programme of IT support sessions to help people with the basics and many of these are free. You do not need to book in advance to use a library computer. However, many libraries are very busy, and it is best to book. If you need to use any special features, such as a scanner, mention this when booking. Our computers use filtering software to help reduce the risk of you or your child accessing inappropriate content, but please be aware that this is not 100 percent effective.
